Position Summary
RipCode, Inc. is an innovative new equipment manufacturer focused on the convergence of Internet-based IP video and the need to re-purpose content amongst a variety of viewing mediums. We are seeking an equally innovative and experienced General Manager to grow and manage the European Region.
Reporting to the VP of WW Sales and initially acting as an individual contributor, the General Manager of Europe will be responsible for both direct sales activities as well as the development of the sales organization, consisting of direct and indirect sales and sales operations of RipCode's video processing and transcoding product lines in EMEA.
Primary Responsibilities
- Build, drive and manage the RipCode European sales organization developing both direct and channel/OEM sales teams.
- Develop and execute regional business development plans and budgets consistent with the company's strategic growth plan.
- Manage company sales forecast and direct updated Account Development Plans for each allocated vertical sales segment.
- Encourage, monitor and act on feedback from allocated accounts and develop sound relationships with key account players.
- Ensure sales teams have appropriate sales tools, training and
promotional support to expand business in new applications, new geographies and new markets.
- Adhere to company account management procedures and ensure team compliance.
- Research, monitor and communicate status of competitive market landscape, customer needs, and user preferences to internal marketing, sales management, operations and engineering teams on an ongoing basis
- Contribute to business case development as required in the respective market segments.
- Identify various vertical market channels and obtain the requisite knowledge to be effective in selling into these markets.
- Manage the commercial aspects of each account, such as, timely invoicing and cash collection, in co-operation with the corporate finance team.
- Promote the company and its product offerings at trade shows and events often with limited assistance.
- Provide customer feedback on desired new product functionality.
- Provide feedback on competitors' products and market activities.
We are seeking someone who will be dedicated to building long-term, beneficial and profitable relationships with clients, prospects, partners and staff. The RipCode General Manager must possess a strong penchant for solutions-oriented selling, looking beyond products and transactions and focusing on customer business processes and how best to improve those processes with solutions from Ripcode. To that end, the ideal candidate must have demonstrable business acumen and an ability to analyze client specific business conditions.
Additionally, a self-starter mentality with superior presentation skills and a high level of comfort dealing at executive levels in client organizations is essential to success. Candidates must exude an enthusiasm for sales, managing projects and people and have a high-performance track record that supports this quality.
Qualifications
- Proven abilities to manage self and others; to motivate and develop a multi-disciplinary team, potentially across multiple geographic locations.
- Demonstrated business development and organizational skills, with experience of growing profitable business opportunities, building deep and meaningful relationships at all levels of organizations; and managing conflicting objectives and deadlines across multiple time zones.
- A self-starter, capable of operating remotely with minimal supervision.
- Must have demonstrated the ability to "roll up the sleeves" when needed while at the same time demonstrated the ability to think strategically for long term company success.
- Experience in managing P&L for similar size region.
- Proven track record of launching sales operations for US based technology start ups.
- Demonstrable knowledge of the European marketplace, competitors, and key trends as they relate to Ripcode's key target markets, including:
- User Generated Content
- Commercial Broadcast/Studios
- Mobile TV and Mobile Video market
- MNO's, Telcos and Systems Integrators
- Deep domain experience including ten years of successful technology sales, requiring cross-functional interactions in client organizations. Special emphasis on experience in sales of new and emerging technologies into new markets. Areas of sales experience should include:
- Video encoding/decoding IP equipment systems sales
- IP network and infrastructure equipment sales
- IPTV systems sales
- Wireless IP mobile network sales
- Experience selling into the European MNO's, Telcos, Systems Integrators.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals at acceptable levels of profitability.
- Knowledge of internet video solutions, video codecs, Internet Protocol (IP) systems and related technologies, including digital rights management and video production techniques.
- Strong understanding of equipment sales and channel strategies.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of establishing credibility with key customers, prospects and business partners, sales, customer support and development.
- Excellent verbal presentation and written communications skills with the ability to translate technology concepts into easily understood ideas.
- Attention to detail and quality of deliverables.
